Length controls the visual line
Measure from the piercing downward, not from the top of the ear. Compare a listing's length with an owned pair and note whether it ends near the jaw, below it, or close to the shoulder.
Width changes the impression
A narrow three-inch drop can feel lighter visually than a broad two-inch flower. Use both dimensions when available and compare them with the face, hair volume, glasses, and neckline.
Listings rarely give useful weight
Words such as lightweight are subjective. Review the materials, number of stones, closure, and return policy, then test the pair at home before committing to an all-day event.
Closure affects security and comfort
Push backs are familiar but can loosen. Open hooks move freely and may need silicone stoppers. Lever backs enclose the wire but still need enough room behind the earlobe.
Material specificity matters
Base metal, gold tone, plated, nickel-free, and hypoallergenic are not interchangeable claims. Buyers with sensitivities should look for the exact post or wire material and stop use if irritation occurs.
